Abby Rooney Named as 2023 Unsung Legal Hero by Minnesota Lawyer Magazine

July 27, 2023News, Recognition

Foley Mansfield is pleased to announce the selection of Abby Rooney, the firm’s Chief Operating Officer and Director of Human Resources, as a 2023 Unsung Legal Hero by Minnesota Lawyer Magazine.

The Unsung Legal Hero Award honors law firm employees with exceptional talent and high performance in the legal support field. “The Unsung Heroes work behind the scenes to ensure the work gets done efficiently and accurately,” according to the publication.

As a foundational element of Foley Mansfield’s operations, Abby Rooney represents the undercurrent that keeps the firm running smoothly. In addition to her roles as Chief Operating Officer and HR Director, she acts as a silent member of the Executive Committee, supervises the firm’s directors, and serves as an advisor to Firmwide Managing Partner and Co-Founder Kyle Mansfield. Her remarkable abilities as a problem solver and motivator drive the firm forward every day, uniting our attorneys and staff in the pursuit of providing excellent service to clients while building a strong internal community.

“I’m immensely grateful to receive this award and proud of the work we do at Foley Mansfield. The incredible team of professionals I work with at the firm makes it all possible – without their efforts, maintaining our current level of service and success would be a much greater challenge. That includes firm leadership – I’m thankful to work closely with Partners like our Firmwide Managing Partner, Kyle Mansfield, who is forward-thinking, generous, and supportive,” Abby said.

Abby holds both PHR and SHRM certifications and previously acted as President of the Minnesota Chapter of The Association of Legal Administrators.

“Abby possesses the rare combination of brilliant management skills, intelligence and compassion. Her background in human resources uniquely qualified her to tackle the people-management that goes with running the business of a law firm. She is calm under pressure and steady at the helm. As managing partner, she always has my back and provides real-time information and solutions to every issue,” said Kyle.
