Foley Mansfield Kicks-Off 2022 Summer Minority Clerkship Program

We are pleased to announce today that Foley Mansfield has kicked-off its 2022 Summer Minority Clerkship program – a program designed to create a pipeline of historically underrepresented legal professionals at the law school level and help them gain direct experience and exposure to the practice of litigation and trial procedure. For this summer, we are excited to host a 2L law student from Southern University Law Center (SULC) in our St. Louis office and a 1L law student from Northern Illinois Law School in our Chicago office.  Through the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s 1L Scholars Program, we will be sharing the 1L law student with Allstate Insurance for half of the summer, giving the 1L student both a law firm and in-house law department experience.

We were deeply impressed with the quality of the candidates applying for these summer minority clerkship positions.  After careful consideration, we selected Kaylah Abdullah from SULC and Alaina Jraige from Northern Illinois Law.  Kaylah began her clerkship late last week on May 26th, and Alaina will start on July 5th.  Both students will receive hands-on experience working alongside our defense teams where they will work on pleadings, discovery, legal research and other trial procedures.

Through the interview process, Kaylah and Alaina stood out as candidates with leadership capabilities and academic excellence. We are excited to have them on board with us this summer and thrilled to be a stepping-stone on their journey in a career in law.
